The online gaming market has experienced a significant growth rate in Europe and the rest of the world. Hamburg-based company ‘yStats published The Global Online Gaming Report 2012, it indicates that profits in international online gaming will rise by 10% within the next 4 years.
The report also outlined the social gaming trend in Europe. It finds that Germany and England are the two biggest markets for social gaming in Western Europe. In England, if one takes into account the amount of games played online 20% are social games. The only other games that could give online games a run for its money are casual and console games.
In Germany the internet gambling market could double in size by 2015. Online and browser-based games contributed to a large portion of the country’s gaming revenue last year, many experts agree that this trend will continue for the next three years.
Another region that’s expected to join the online gambling forray is Eastern Europe. Of late its seeing a massive growth in social and internet gaming. Numbers are up by as much as 20% in Poland. While in Russia online games contribute a staggering 80% of the country’s gaming revenue. As is the case with the rest of the globe and Western Europe this remarkable growth will continue for the next couple of years.
Social gaming on the other hand is increasing rapidly and various titles could be found on Facebook and other social networks. The added advantage of social games it enables players to interact with friends, family and rsults could be added to their profiles. The reposrt indicates that social gaming is here to stay and it makes up a large percentage of today’s contemporary gaming market and will continue to do so.
