The world’s premier gaming software developer, Net Entertainment just released another gem of a video slots titled Dracula. Just like its previous releases Aliens, Frankenstein, Scareface and South Park, NetEnt partnered with Universal again. If you have a penchant for slots machines with a horror theme then suck your teeth into this one. Dracula is a non-progressive slots laced with high-end graphics, a Bat feature, wilds, free spins and a unique bonus round. The slots can be played on desktop, mobile and tablet.

Game Features and Theme

Dracula Video Slots by Net Entertainment

Vampire themed slots are popular with contemporary players since they add a sense of mystique and also feature a love story. The slots is based on Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula which means dragon or devil in Romanian. As a kid I’ve read the book and it scared the living daylights out of me. I might add I enjoyed the book.

As a player what can you expect from the game? Aside from the vampire theme, the characters compliment each other well across the reels and the game offers a non-progressive jackpot payout of $2,000. I agree it’s very low and might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

One of the features I like is the Bat feature. It can be triggered randomly. Bats fly across the screen in a cluster formation which transforms all the bats into the same random symbol including the wild. When this happens big wins ensue especially if the symbols are high value.

Free Spins Feature

When the Dracula symbol appears on the second reel with the stacked Lady symbol on the fourth reel, ‘The Free Spins’ feature is triggered-you receive 10 free spins. When twenty bats dive down onto the reels the reels are engulfed with bats. When the stacked wild symbol appears on the middle reels you’ll receive an additional two free spins. It goes without saying that the biggest wins occur during the free spins round.

Betting Options

Dracula features quite an extensive betting range. It starts off with a mere $0.20 up to $200. The coin denomination ranges from $0.01 up to $1. To adjust your betting options simply click on the ‘Coin Value’. You can use the side arrows to increase or decrease the amount you wish to wager.

If you’re a high roller you can shoot straight for the ‘Max Bet’ button, the reels will spin at the maximum amount on your next spin. I consider Dracula a low variance slots since the maximum win is 400 times your stake.

Synopsis

Overall Dracula is not bad but not as good as the other NetEnt slots I’ve played. At times I get the impression that the developers just went through the motions when they designed it. Although the animations are on par with the other games, it’s the game’s jackpot of a mere $2,000 that leaves me hanging. On the positive side the extended betting range and the Bat feature more than makes up for this little blunder. Payouts in the base game are okay but it’s the payouts during the free spins that steals the show.
