Microgaming the gaming world’s number one software provider has released yet another format of video poker namely Reel Play Poker. This follows after the game releases of Power Poker and Level Up Poker.

Multi hand video poker was introduced by Power Poker and chronological hands with multiplied payouts introduced by Level Up Poker. Reel Play Poker is a video poker game with a slots twirl to it.

The Reel Play Poker game is in the Jacks or Better variation. Players can access this game from the video poker section in the Games Menu. Reel Play Poker has a separate tab within the video poker section. The amount of paylines must be selected by a player first, the amount of coins per payline as well as the coin denomination. Jacks or Better Reel Play Poker has 20 paylines and bets up to 20 coins per payline.

Once a player has set his/her betting parameters the player can click on the Deal button. Just below the main reels a demonstration reel is displayed; just like a normal video poker hand five cards are dealt from a single deck. Microgaming’s software marks the cards that a player must hang on to as per the best possible strategy; however it’s up to the player to decide which card/s he/she is going to play. The moment the player has selected the cards they wish to hang on to he/she could click the Spin button and the game moves to the main reels.

The main reels are the same as a five reel video slot with 20 paylines and three rows. The held cards that correspond to the reels are first filled with those cards. The outstanding reels spin and are arbitrarily filled with other cards. This is where the slot “twirl” comes in. In the horizontal rows the video poker hands are not evaluated, but in all the 20 paylines. Basically it’s akin to a 20 hand video poker game; the distinct difference here is there are not 20 autonomous hands. Hands are formed by means of the crisscrossing of paylines across the three rows just like in slots games.

Every single one of the 20 paylines is separately evaluated against the pay table that corresponds to the amount of coins per payline. Therefore, should a player bet 10 coins per payline the payout table will automatically be adjusted and the payouts indicated will not have to be multiplied by the number of coins. Credited to the player’s balance will be the payouts for every winning payline accumulated. 16,000 coins is the maximum payout for a royal flush with 20 coins per payline. Should all 20 paylines have a royal flush 320,000 coins constitutes this game’s total payout.
