Isle of Man Companies Thrive 2012 EGR B2B Awards

This year’s third eGaming Review (EGR) Business to Business (B2B) Awards was held on 10th May at the Atrium at Wembley Stadium in London. It featured the usual glitz and glamour by awarding the best service providers and the internet gambling industry’s top B2B operators.The awards covers various aspects of the gaming industry such betting and gaming software, networks, mobile gaming, payments solutions, recruitment, IT and infrastructure.

EGR B2B Awards 2012

Online gambling operators based in the Isle of Man scooped most of this year’s EGR B2B Awards. Some of them were nominated for 18 awards and scooped up five awards in total. The Data Center of the Year award went to Continent 8 Technologies, it’s the third consecutive year they won this award. Continent 8’s Chief Development Officer, Nick Nally had the following to say, “It represents our continuing commitment to the industry in terms of our product set and footprint. We are particularly happy to join other Isle of Man companies who were successful on the night.”

Playtech Scoops Awards

Israeli based software provider Playtech received three awards which is a step up from 2011. Playtech won the awards for the following categories: Bingo Network of the Year, Slot Provider of the Year and Poker Network of the Year. Virtue Fusion is the category through which Playtech runs its bingo network. It does not come as a surprise to us Playtech winning the Slot Provider of the year since its newest brand slot games are quite impressive. Playtech was named RNG Casino Supplier of the year in 2011 and also scooped the Bingo Network of the Year. This year’s RNG Casino Supplier of the Year went to Microgaming Systems. Microgaming’s Poker Software of the Year was also commended.

At the associated conference and exhibition The Isle of Man was well represented at the EGR Subscriber Forum. Top brass from the Isle of Man online gambling community that attended the awards were Alex Downie OBE also Political Member for eGaming in the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development. Downie congratulated the Isle of Man at the EGR B2B Awards. He said, “To have won five awards is an exemplary achievement and goes to demonstrate the quality of the Isle of Man’s e-Gaming sector and its continued status as a world-leading center of excellence for the industry.”

Additonal winners were Net Entertainment for its pioneer RNG Casino Software and Innovation Slot Provision; Mobenga for Mobile Supplier of the Year and Ukash for Payments Company of the Year.
